Best viewed ( and intended to be viewed) using the "Sitback" feature in the main gallery in fullscreen mode, just hit the pause button to keep the image up.

Viewing it on anything but a black background *really* washes it out.

This is my entry for the "Newborn" contest over on
Y'know, I doubt i'll win the contest but to be honest its fine if I don't, its been so long since Ive been able to do a personal work and the topic was something I just couldnt resist.
Due to being short on time and inbetween assignments I knew I had to do something with lots of negative space.

Luckily the image-size requirements weren't hugenormous so I got down to it and busted this guy out.
Well..."busted out" for me is about 4 days, 8+hours a day -hee hee!

All done in Photoshop 7

Thanks so much for taking the time to shoot by my gallery.

Hi Brad
This is amazingly good. I admire all your work.
This concept of yours was a inspiration to one of my pieces, and would like to know how do you paint that smoke effect, do you manually paint it in, or do you use textures?
After finishing mine and looking at yours... I still have a loooooong way to go.
Thanks, and much appreciated.

Wow you are very right. There's a huge difference when the background is black. Regardless, I would be shitting bricks if I saw this. It's not just your creature design, it's the appearance of the room and general mood this gives off(moths have never been freakier). I think I would stay out of the shack where these 'eggs' are as well. I'm honestly glad you left quite a bit of negative space, since there's no telling what else could be there.

By the way, have you ever played a Penumbra or Amnesia game? The atmosphere is similar to this bit, and you're pretty screwed if the monsters find you
