Ok, I lied.

THIS is the toughest piece i've ever had to work on.

I've really been looking forward to showing this baby to you guys and it was finally released this weekend at SDCC - as a poster - over at the Magic the Gathering booth.

I'll unload the epic tale behind the 6 straight months I worked on this piece with about 4-5 hours of sleep a night on top of doing daddy day care - but it's going to have to wait for the coffee-table art-book I'll release in the misty future one day.

This is only at 50% of the full image size - i.e. lifesize, since this is essentially the second "half" of the "Duels of the Planeswalkers" piece I completed earlier in the year.

I mention those few details for those of you who think you can't accomplish your goals in art in the face of enormous adversity.

You can: you just have to be willing to suffer for it.
Make excuses to draw, you'll be glad you did.

Im trying to widdle away at the comments as best I can but I've got a HUGE workload this month and the wife is about to squeeze out our son (Max) literally within a couple of weeks.
I read every comment and they really, really mean a lot to me and my family - so thanks so much for your interest and entertaining banter; we love it!

PS - the Merfolk Planeswalker inbetween Garruk and Liliana is Kiora Atua (blue/green). Just thought id mention that since ive seen a lot of folks asking.
Theres also a lot of folks asking about Venser and Nicol Bolas.
As far as I know Venser is dead (died helping free Karn I believe), as for Nicol?
Probably somewhere rubbing his scaley hands together, plotting the demise of those you see here.

EDIT: Sorry, had to upload a smaller file; I'm already hearing about people running posters and ripping off my client in the process.
