This was REALLY exciting to find out about, I had no idea that the card was going to be blown up and used as a spoiler - Good times!

- I cannot give anyone permission in any official capacity to use the content in this image, I am not an employee of Wizards of the Coast, I am an independant contractor hired to illustrate intellectual property according to specific guidelines.

- Usually I don't design the characters/creatures/items in the cards, im asked to re-imagine them based on Art Direction notes and rough concept art provided by the Magic the Gathering concept artists.
In this case I was given extremely loose notes " ..a female vedalken wizard". So in essence I designed Nin, The Pain Artist. Believe it or not I prefer to re-imagine and illustrate the concept based on rough ideas and notes, but I had good fun with designing on this one, hopefully i'll have the the opportunity to revisit her in another card in the future.

I have mixed feelings about this card's artwork. On the one hand, I get and appreciate that a certain amount of fear and/or respect is supposed to be inherent to the position of "pain artist".

But on the other hand, I keep getting distracted by the fact that she's kinda hot.
