One of several cards that I had the pleasure of illustrating for the 2012 Magic the Gathering Core Set.

Had a ball with this one, its pretty much my first time drawing a dragon and really tried to put myself in the shoes of "what if I really saw a fucking dragon...for real" as I was drawing it out.
What the hell would go through your mind?
Would you be frozen in awe and terror of the magesty and doom of such a thing? Would I run headlong into oblivion trying to defend others from it so they might have a chance to get away?
Would my adventuring party have a hawt elf chick in it?
Now that is one awesome, mighty dragon, I say! It is truly magnificent, and I love how you captured the power of it as it breaks through stone. Excellent work!
One of the best mythics to pull as a foil. The colors just make it pop. Also, I've always been curious, when Wizards commissions artists for cards, are you given the specs of the card in question, and then asked to base the artwork on that information, do they get specific about what they want to see, or do they just give you an ambiguous generalization?
Good stuff. I have it. Lucky me, huh? :3
I bow to your skill. Your first dragon, you say? It looks too awesome. You really know how to capture your imagination on paper!
