ConceptSketch:Trailerpark kids by Cryptcrawler ConceptSketch:Trailerpark kids by Cryptcrawler
More concept work for "The Human Condition" graphic novel.

Now granted its loose and sketchy but I really had a lot of fun with this one, its liberating to take a break from my obsessive need to render the crap out of everything.

I also enjoyed this for a lot of other reasons, mostly nostalgic.
These "Trailer Park Kids" are pretty much amalgymations of the guys I hung out with in high-school. We were eachothers refuge for a lot of other reasons ( read that as a lot of other WAY more important reasons) aside from being uncool and unpopular.

Sketching this up brought back some great ( and not so great memories).
Thats the amazing thing about drawing sometimes; the journey you take and didnt count on when you sat down.

Thanks for taking the time to come around the gallery.

God bless and take care of yourselves!

Almost forgot:

Here is a link to the bands music on "Matt's" shirt. Sorry I couldnt resist pimping one of my favorite death metal bands =)

If you can guess where the quote at the bottom came from youll be instantly placed into my " I like you more than most other people" catagory!

Whatever the hell thats worth!

Now I remember what I was thinking!

I'd love to play as these 4 in a game of Arkham Horror or Elder Sign! :XD: The art would fit in perfectly with that style!

Oh nice! I could definitely tell there had to be some personal connection to the creation of these characters. You really were able to make that shine through with the expressions and designs.

I hung out with a lot of different crowds in high school, but kids like these were always cool to hang with because they never judged people the way the preppy kids did. I miss that in some respects.

Cool - like how you have presented them with that feeling of blocking together to face a common threat.

Great observation!

See, your skin has pores (tiny holes) which connect to oil glands located under the skin. The glands are connected to the pores via follicles - small canals. Sebum, an oily liquid, is produced by these glands. The sebum carries dead skin cells through the follicles to the surface of your skin. A small hair grows through the follicle out of the skin. Pimples grow when these follicles get blocked.

Simply put - skin cells, sebum and hair can clump together into a plug, this plug gets infected with bacteria, resulting in a swelling. A pimple starts to develop when the plug begins to break down.
