So I decided to go ahead and take advantage of a few days off while waiting for sketch approvals from a client and crank out some more character development work for the graphic novel.
Since the characters in the more recent pre-production stuff seemed to feel more developed I figured I should definitely go back and flesh our Darryl ( the main character) some more - and im glad I did! I really enjoyed working on this one because it allowed me to get into Darryl's head and psychology a little more, in addition to making some hard decisions about his age, profession and attitude. Instead of him being a CID agent ive decided to make him an FBI agent since they have broader federal powers at thier disposal and from what im understanding through my research - have a little more clout within law enforcement agencies. Ive also decided to make him about 45 years old for a variety of reasons, none of which I can really give away aside from wanting him to come across as being wiser, warmer and fitting the "haunted veteran" character role a little tighter.
I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for coming by and showing interest in my art and leaving comments, it means a lot to me.
Stay tuned for more!

He reminds me a little bit of Dennis Haysbert. I love the skin color and textures. The expression really comes through as that of a mature man who has seen (and possibly done) terrible things. Beautiful work!
I like it and want to ask you how your going to make him unique with all the strong and memorable archetypes of this type of character? Thinking X-Files and Predator 2 (Glover and David Duchovny) for example. Your quote very much reminds me of both and a number of others.
Awsome
Everything else is spot on as well.
